About the Position

The Senior Designer plays a key role in shaping project design direction and supporting Job Captains and Project Managers throughout all phases of work. This role combines creative leadership with technical expertise, contributing to concept development, space planning, detailing, and documentation. The Senior Designer mentors intermediate and junior designers while ensuring design quality and project efficiency.



Job Responsibilities

  • Lead conceptual design and develop design solutions aligned with project goals.

  • Produce and refine space plans, design studies, presentations, and material palettes.

  • Support Job Captains in coordinating design intent with technical documentation.

  • Provide guidance to intermediate and junior designers on design tasks, standards, and best practices.

  • Prepare drawings, diagrams, and details for all project phases.

  • Collaborate with the Project Manager to ensure design decisions align with schedule, scope, and client expectations.

  • Participate in client meetings, presentations, and design workshops.

  • Research materials, finishes, fixtures, and emerging design trends.

  • Review drawings for accuracy, consistency, and adherence to design intent.

  • Assist with code research and incorporate compliance requirements into design solutions.

  • Coordinate with consultants, vendors, and contractors as needed.

  • Maintain awareness of project milestones and communicate proactively with the team.


Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Architecture, Interior Architecture, or related field.

  • 5–7+ years of professional design experience in commercial projects.

  • Strong portfolio demonstrating design excellence and technical capability.

  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, Adobe Creative Suite, and presentation tools.

  • Strong understanding of building codes, construction methods, and detailing.

  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to mentor junior staff and contribute to a positive team culture.

  • Highly organized, detail‑oriented, and able to manage multiple tasks.

  • Interest in licensure or certification (ARE, NCIDQ, LEED) preferred.

  • Working vehicle and driver’s license required.
